Yesterday was a day for getting back on track with our Advent reading and activities after our trip away and birthday celebrations. We read Jan Brett’s Gingerbread Baby. This led in perfectly to the making of our gingerbread house from a kit I had purchased. I left the children to work on this while the baby took his nap and I did some grocery shopping for a needy family in our parish. Well I came home to find my children covered in frosting with them all telling me, "Don’t worry Mom, it was a happy frosting fight!!!" The gingerbread house is a bit disheveled looking with one side caved in (Hope, my oldest, told Lenny and Lily to just pretend that it is a garage!!! LOL). In retrospect it was probably good I wasn’t here as I most likely would have put a kabash on all the frosting flinging fun!!!
