The highlights of Day 2 were:
Walking through Central Park and finding the statue of "Balto", the sled dog who saved the children of Nome, Alaska by getting the much needed medicine through the arctic terrain during a massive storm. Don’t know whether you remember that children’s movie but it was a big hit with our older children.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art – I loved the European artists while my husband preferred the Medieval armor. You can view some of our pictures of the wonderful art in this photo album.
On the way back from the museum we discovered Alice in Wonderland
and
Hans Christian Anderson.
For my husband, one of the highlights of our trip was seeing the Monty Python musical Spamalot. It was far to crude and vulgar for my taste but after all my sweet husband endured more art than he would have liked at the museum for me. LOL
One final note on Day 2: The most embarrassing moment of the day was using the "Charmin Restrooms" when nature called. Charmin toilet paper has apparently set up these restrooms to push their brand name. After taking an escalator up to the second floor we stood on line to use the restrooms while the employees gave big cheers every time a patron walked into a restroom. They clapped and sang to the Charmin theme song. My husband thought it was hysterical. Frankly I was highly embarrassed and wanted to slink away. LOL
I guess I’m just a prude!!!

I am enjoying reading about your trip. I would have been quite embarrased as well, but reading it here I am getting a little chuckle out of it.
God bless,
Kristen
