Well my daughter Hope(14) and I arrived home safely from a 1000 mile round-trip long weekend to attend the bridal shower of my first cousin’s daughter. I hadn’t been to visit since this same daughter had her college graduation party (two and a half years ago) and we had a wonderful time. I have pictures in this album for anyone who’s interested.
It was a real treat to have so much one-on-one time with my sweet Hope. She is going to be 15 years old in a few months and I felt the need to say some things that have been on my mind (NO, not the birds and the bees!!!! LOL). The most important of which was that she should always feel she can come to me no matter how far she feels she has fallen from grace. Although I thought she already knew this, I felt the need to tell her that. It was a great time of opening up our hearts to each other, singing corny songs, and enjoying each other’s company. Some opportunities are too good to miss and this was one of them. God is good!!!

Great post, Heather!Gaby and I have shared that talk more than once, I pray that she never forgets it if she ever feels ashamed of something she has done. It’s amazing, working in pro-life, how many girls feel (incorrectly) that, “may parents will KILL me!” and hide a crisis pregnancy from those who most love her.
You’re a great Mom to have a friendship with your teen!
