Motivation – A Call to Continued Action

Nothing like a quick look at this upcoming year’s homeschool curriculum to motivate one to action.  My oldest son will be using the Sonlight American History Year 2 Curriculum.  We loved the Year 1 curriculum last year but in perusing this year’s books, I noticed that the reading level was much higher than last year.  I have been working diligently with my son, a reluctant reader, to improve his reading.  We have made great strides over the last year and I have turned up the heat this summer.  It’s been a tough sell over the summer to be such a taskmaster but it is a necessary evil for my son.  Well anyway, back to my original point – motivation and action.  I showed my son the first book he is to read independently this fall.  It provided us both with the necessary motivation to "stay the course" through August to take the next steps on our home education journey.
