Dear Mother,
It was the doctor’s order to take care of yourself. So as my prescibed medicine, I’m ordering you to start the Legion of Mary again. No ifs or buts!!! Swallow your medicine like a good patient! We can get started by ourselves every Monday morning! You’ve trained us well and I can keep the troops in order until your return. Also, as highly recommended, you should go to morning mass that day too. From your loving daughterP.S. Also make sure to make devotions part of our daily schedule with school. It helps to have God as our ally as we go through the stress and turmoil of the day!
This is the email I received from my 15 year old daughter, Hope (Note: She does live in the same house as me — I guess she felt that her stressed out mom might better receive the comments in writing
). I was in having my blood pressure checked yesterday. I told the doctor that the top number of my blood pressure has been a little high. She told me that I’m stressed. I told her that my memory has been bad lately. She told me that I’m stressed. I told her that I have trouble coming up with —uh,uh,uh— words sometimes. She told me that I am stressed. OK I get it!!!! I’m stressed!!!!
So anyway, I took my daughter’s advice and went to morning mass today. As I sat waiting for the beginning of mass, I focused on Jesus on the cross. I thought about Jesus’ words: “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30). It did serve to put my stresses in perspective. Thanks Hope for the email, your love, and all your help!!!

You are so blessed to have such a warm, wonderful and caring daughter. And WELCOME BACK!!!!
Great to hear that you are starting back with the Legion of Mary.
