The Ministry of the Smile

I was sitting at the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament recently and I was thinking about how I could minister to others (other than my family) and still take care of the multitude of needs of my husband and children.  I have passed the days of thinking I should be a super woman.  Been there, done that, failed miserably!!!  But it struck me (thanks God!!!) that I can minister to others at the supermarket, the bank, the park, the post office, etc. with just a smile and a little bit of patience.  So many of the people I meet look so depressed whether it is the cashier, the person standing in line next to me, or the person who nearly ran me down with her cart.  )  Well I’ve found my ministry.  It is the ministry of the smile.  It is amazing the effect that it has on people.  A ray of sunshine – a ray of Jesus – won’t you join the ministry of the smile???
