Exercise with Frodo

For those of you couch potatoes like me who are looking for a way to get in shape after the holidays, I came across a website that has the “Walk to Rivendell” challenge.  We can walk ourselves healthy following Frodo’s path.  They have different distances that represent different parts of his [...]

Do I Treat My Family as Lovingly and Kindly as I Would a Stranger on the Street?

I just read a beautiful post by Cay Gibson over at Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks.  I think it is particularly appropriate during this Christmas season when I can feel squeezed and the “victims” of those stressed feelings are those that I love the most on God’s green earth – my husband and children.  Cay [...]

Overheard

This morning I overheard my daughter, Lily (7), telling my son, Peter (2), that he was “as bossy as a mama.”  Now that’s an insult!!!

Making Your Home a Haven Challenge: Day 7+

Yesterday, Crystal’s challenge included taking on one project on which I’ve been procrastinating and decluttering one area.  Well the first part was easy – decluttering my purse and entering all our receipts into Quicken.  The second was another story.  It was a two day job (Hence the reason for this late post).  I attacked the home office.  [...]

Goodbye, Dear Friend

My much loved, much used Crockpot has cooked its final meal!!!  It owed me nothing as I bought it for $15 at Kohls at least five years ago!!!  Goodbye, dear friend!!!

My sweet son, Lenny, upon hearing that I was going to blog the demise of my Crockpot, uttered these words [...]
