Feast of St. Andrew
Today is the day to begin the Christmas Novena from now until Christmas. Here is the prayer:
Hail, and blessed be the hour and moment at which the Son of God was born of a most pure Virgin at a stable at midnight in
In keeping with our desire to put preparation for Our dear Lord’s birth at the front of our minds this Advent season, the faithful are encouraged to repeat this short, but beautiful, prayer 15 times a day.
Prayer Requests:
- For healing for Michael Summerville: Due to a near-drowning, Oct.15, 2008, Michael sustained significant brain injury. Details and updates at http://www.caringbridge.org/cb/viewHome.do
- Terence Conley – a homeschool dad from IHM who has suffered brain injury due to a car accident. He is in rehab and making wonderful progress. His doctors call it a miracle and ask that everyone keep praying!!!

A woman I work with gave me a copy of this prayer. She just calls it the Christmas prayer. Her mother prayed it every year. A friend of her family says she believes that it is because of this prayer that she is now married to the “most wonderful husband in the world”!
Last fall I was looking online for a special prayer to say for my good friend’s 3-year old son, Andrew, who had cancer. I found the St. Andrew Christmas novena and prayed for him during advent. God is good! Andrew is in remission. I want to spread this beautiful Christmas prayer! I found this site while looking for a holy card or other printed copies that I can share with family, friends and at my church. Last year I was writing it out by hand for some interested prayer warriors . I will mark this site, and return. God Bless You!
I believe this Novena is what helped us conceive our child after years of trying.
